Women's Tennis Drops First Match

BOCA RATON, FL - Pia Terol captured FAU's lone victory in Florida Atlantic University's 4-1 loss to Arkansas State University, in Denton, TX on Friday morning.
FAU, seeded no. 8 in the Sun Belt Conference Championship, faced no. 9 Arkansas State in the early contest.
ASU took the doubles point and then saw Terol capture the Owls' first point at no. five singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Renee Branker. Tied at one, ASU then picked up wins at no. 6, 1 and 4 to clinch the victory.
FAU bid farewell to just one senior, Katherine Bartnik, and is expected to return all but her position.
