Orlando, FL - Sophomore Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn shot a tournament best round of 70 on Wednesday, as Florida Atlantic University women's golf wrapped up the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Orlando, FL in third place out of 11 schools.
"Over the course of three days the team improved every round," said Head Coach Joan Joyce. "We had our best round today and Praewnapa ended the afternoon with a great performance."
Phol-Uayporn (79, 77, 70 -226) used a 2-under par round on Wednesday to jump 14 places into a tie for 7th. It was Praewnapa's eighth top ten finish of the year. The conference announced at the tournament's conclusion that she was named a member of the Sun Belt All-Conference Team.
Jennifer Norton (79, 74 ,75 -228) shot three-over par in the final round of the par 72, 5,997 yard Eagle Pines Golf Course. She finished in a tie for 10th place. Kimberly D'Andrea (74, 78, 79 -231) ended the three-day event with a tie for 20th . This was Kimberly's top finish of the year. June Bolme (82, 75, 77 -234) and Gina Larsen (83, 85, 82, -250) round out the Owl field with 25th and 51st place finishes.
Florida Atlantic (314, 304, 301 -919) shot 13-over par on the final day. Denver (298, 298, 297- 893) was the team winner. Pioneer golfer Stephanie Sherlock (73, 71, 75 -219) is the medalist. She completed the tournament shooting 3-over par.
