Orlando, FL - Sophomore Kimberly D'Andrea is leading the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team with a tie for third place after one round of action at the Sun Belt conference tournament in Orlando, FL.
D'Andrea (37, 37- 74) shot a season best two over par in the par 72, 5,997 yard Walt Disney Eagle Pines course. Her teammates Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn (30, 40 -79) and Jennifer Norton (36, 43 -79) each finished the afternoon in a tie for 21st. June Bolme (40, 42 -82) and Gina Larsen (41, 42 -83) round out the Owl field with ties for 37th and 41st entering the tournament's second day.
Denver (298) is currently in first place out of the 11 team field. FAU (314) is 16 strokes back of the lead. South Alabama's Michelle Toth (35, 37 -72) shot an even par in the first round and is the current medalist.
The second round of the three-day event will begin on Tuesday morning.
