Miami, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team opened the three-day Ryder Florida State Championship on Friday afternoon in Miami, FL. Two Owls are in the top thirty heading into the final day.
Jennifer Norton (39-39, 78) shot 6-over par at the par 72, 6,210 yard Don Shula Golf Club. She is tied for 23rd place. June Bolme (40-39, 79) is one stroke behind her teammate at 7-over par and is in a tie for 28th.
Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn (38, 42 -80), Kimberly D'Andrea (40, 43- 83), and Karine Bolme (39, 47 -86) round out the FAU field with ties for 33rd, 45th, and 53rd place respectively.
Florida Atlantic University (320) is in ninth place after one round of action. Florida Southern (298) is the team leader and also boasts the current medalist, Heather Burgner (37, 35- 72), who is shooting an even par.
The second round will begin on Saturday afternoon.
