At the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Florida Atlantic University's Ellie Weberg secured a spot in the finals with a good swim in the prelims on Saturday morning in the 200-yard breaststroke. The senior from Bloomington, MN is a two-time All-American this season after finishing eighth in the 200 breast.
This season's two awards bring her career total to four All-America awards during her FAU career.
"She is only the second athlete and first female athlete to represent FAU swimming and diving at the NCAA Championships," said FAU Head Coach Steve Eckelkamp. "She had a great career at FAU and has the most Division I awards in our history."
In the prelims, Weberg posted a time of 2:11.84 to place eighth and move into the finals of the event in the evening session. The time was the fastest time of the season for her and was .41 seconds offher school record she set last season at the NCAA Championships.
With a time of 2:13.08 in the finals, Weberg earned an eighth place finish and ended her FAU career in her third NCAA Championships.
