Daytona Beach, FL - In just his second tournament of the year, sophomore Andrew Storm paced the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team with a fourth place finish at the Bethune Cookman Spring Invitational on Sunday in Daytona Beach, FL.
Storm (76, 74- 150) shot 6-over par in the 6,772 yard tournament hosted by Bethune Cookman. Two other Owls finished in the top 15. Mark Washburn (72, 81- 153) had his second straight top 10 placing, ending the two-round event in a tie for eighth place at 9-over par. Derren Garber (78, 77- 155) had his best finish of the year, ending the event in a tie for 12th. Michael Berger (81, 84 - 165) and Anthony Haderer (87, 84 -171) rounded out the Owl competitors with a tie for 31st and tie for 39th place finish.
FAU (307, 316- 623) completed the event in third place. They were only 10 strokes behind the winner, Rollins College (309, 304- 613). The individual medalist was Jamie Montgomery (71, 76- 147) of Savannah State, who won on a playoff round.
Florida Atlantic will be back in action this Friday in the Ron Smith Invitational, which will be hosted by USF in Tampa, FL.
