LAFAYETTE, LA - Six first-half three pointers helped Louisiana-Lafayette defeat Florida Atlantic University 71-52 on Saturday night.
A Sean Alarcon three-pointer helped the Owls (4-9, 0-2 Sun Belt) pull within three at 15-12 midway through the first half. The Ragin' Cajuns outscored FAU 31-11 the rest of the half to take a 46-23 lead at halftime.
The Owls were unable to mount a rally in the second half, despite drawing 11 fouls on ULL. Carlos Monroe led the team with 15 points and Alarcon tied his career-high with 13, his fifth consecutive game in double digits.
The Owls return home after the new year to face South Alabama. The game is January 2 in Boca Raton and will start at 7 p.m.
