In the final meet of the 2007 year, the Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming and diving teams faced off in a dual meet against Northwestern and the University of Denver. The women were able to defeat Sun Belt opponent Denver 152-91.
Lisa Thompson came away with two wins for the women in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. She posted a 281.85 on the 3-meter board to win the event by more than 40 points. On the 1-meter board she posted a score of 231.75.
Fort Myers, FL native Lauren Shue won the 500 free with a time of 5:00.32. In the 1000 free, Shue earned a second-place finish and posted the fastest time in the Sun Belt Conference by touching the wall in 10:12.35.
The women picked up six other second-place finishes. Bianca Murphy finished second in the 50 free (24.59) and 100 free (52.43), while Jenny Harms, 200 free (1:53.81), Lindsey Alexander, 200 IM (2:06.74), Kalina Neal, 200 breast (2:25.76) and the 400 free relay also took second in their respective events.
On the men's side, freshman Michael Shimansky placed second in the 1000 free (9:39.40) and fourth in the 500 free (4:48.14). Fellow freshman Matt Moran helped the Owls with a third-place showing in the 50 free (21.81) and fifth place in the 100 free (48.24)
