ATLANTA, GA - The Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving teams completed a second day of intense competition at the Georgia Tech Invite on Saturday.
A fifth-place finish for Lindsey Alexander in the 100 backstroke was they day's best for the FAU women, as the senior earned 14 points with a time of 57.28.
Lauren Shue placed sixth in the "A" Final of the 200 freestyle, posting a 1:51.86 to gain 13 points for FAU.
Shawna Griffith finished seventh in the "A" Final of the 400 IM. The senior posted a time of 4:33.36, garnering 12 points for the Owls.
Matt Moran led the FAU men with a 12th-overall finish in the "B" Final of the 200 freestyle, logging five points with a time of 1:42.63.
Miguel Dorante broke the one-minute mark in the 100 breaststroke (59.60), good for two FAU points in a 15th-place "B" Final finish.
Florida Atlantic concludes competition in the event Sunday at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m. with Finals scheduled for 3 p.m.
