BOCA RATON, FL The Florida Atlantic University volleyball will play its next four matches in Boca Raton.
The Owls find themselves at 3-5 in conference play after dropping three matches last week. FAU now faces two very tough opponents in Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. FAU plays Middle Tennessee (19-1, 5-0 Sun Belt) on Thursday night at Grandview Preparatory School. The Blue Raiders are led by reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Ashley Adams, who posted a total of 31 kills in two matches last week. For the season, Adams averages 4.67 kills a game and is hitting .389. The Blue Raiders have wins over Oklahoma, Oregon State and Connecticut this season.
"Middle Tennessee is easily the most athletic team in the conference and they are very well-coached," head volleyball coach Jody Brown said.
The Owls will battle Western Kentucky on Saturday in a match to be held at Lynn University. The Hilltoppers (17-4, 6-0) feature seven players who average at least two kills a game, with Megan Argabright leading the way at 3.92 kills a game. Argabright had 18 kills in a 3-1 win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill earlier this season.
"Argabright may be the best middle blocker in the conference," Brown said. Thursday's match against Middle Tennessee will be held at Grandview Preparatory School. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
