Despite dropping a dual meet at the University of Florida on Saturday afternoon, the Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving teams made strides towards the Sun Belt Conference Championships with many personal bests. Lauren Shue posted an NCAA `B' consideration time in the 1650 free, while Ellie Weberg posted two `B' consideration times and swam her fastest time of the season in the 100 breast.
Shue (Fort Myers, FL) started the individual events with a second-place finish in the 1650 free and posted a consideration time of 16:44.07.
Weberg (Bloomington, MN) won both the 100 ad 200 breaststroke events with times of 1:01.85 and 2:13.72, respectively. Last weekend she earned a trip to the NCAA Championships with an `A' cut time in the 200 breaststroke and this weekend she swam her fastest time of the year in the 100 breast.
In the 50 free and 100 free, Bianca Murphy and Jennifer Forcht both posted their best times of the season. Murphy swam a 24.33, while Forcht posted a time of 24.40 in the 50 free for third and fourth place. The two returned to take second and third in the 100 free with times of 52.15 and 52.47.
FAU will honor its seniors in the final meet of the regular season on February 3 when it hosts Miami and Tampa at FAU Pool.
