CORAL GABLES, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team opened the season under second year FAU head coach Mary Dailey at the University of Miami, just one of two road matches the team will play in 2007. Miami opened its season at home with a 7-0 victory over the Owls. FAU captured 13 games against Miami, currently ranked no. 5 nationally.
Junior Elodie Wendling posted the best result with a 6-1, 6-3 loss at no. 1 singles to Audra Cohen. Wendling and Claudia Kecht also fought hard at no. 1 doubles falling 8-3 to Audrey Banada/Romy Farah.
FAU will next travel to Lynn University, February 1, in the second consecutive and final regular-season road match. FAU will play host to its first home match of the season February 17 against Arkansas State. ASU will be the first Sun Belt team the Owls will face since moving to the SBC in the fall of 2006.
