On Saturday, the Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving teams headed to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech and the University of New Orleans' women's team. FAU's women's team came away with two dual meet victories as they won 13 events, while the men fell to the Yellow Jackets. Lauren Shue picked up two individual wins with season best times in the 500 and 1000 freestyle.
Shue (Ft. Myers, FL) picked up the first win for the Owls after posting a conference best time of 10:01.97 in the 1000 free. She followed that up with a season-best 4:56.99 in the 500 free.
Ellie Weberg posted NCAA `B' consideration times in both the 100 and 200 breast. The Bloomington, MN native swam times of 1:02.99 in the 100 breast and 2:15.46 in the 200 breast.
Geni Burts, Jennifer Forcht and Lindsey Alexander also won multiple events. Burts won the 200 free (1:52.12) and the 400 IM (4:28.36). A sophomore from Louisville, KY Forcht took the 50 free (24.48) and 100 fly (57.99). Alexander took the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 59.14 and 2:06.60, respectively. Forcht and Alexander also teamed for a victory in the 200 free relay with Bianca Murphy and Stephanie DeRito with a time of 1:37.85.
Murphy picked up an individual win in the 100 free in 52.29. Jonathon Pinto won the 200 back for the men with a time of 1:54.58 and Christian Baker added a second-place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.46.
