On Friday evening, Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team will play its first home match of the season when it hosts Bethune-Cookman College at 7 p.m. in FAU Arena. The night is tabbed as Ladies Night and all ladies receive one dollar off admission.
The Owls enter the match with a 2-7 record. The team is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Hawkeye-Holiday Inn Challenge and had a chance to win all three matches. Setter Casey LaRocca and Iana Andonova were named to the All-Tournament Team. LaRocca averaged 12.00 assists per game and had a career-high 74 assists and 15 digs against Iowa on Saturday. Andonova was named to her third All-Tournament team of the season and is now ranked third in the Sun Belt with 4.59 kills per game.
The Wildcats start the week with an unblemished record at 3-0. The squad will take on North Florida on Tuesday night in its home opener before traveling to Boca Raton on Saturday. B-CC has wins over Savannah State, the Citadel and South Carolina State.
The team is led by Terra Wagner with 39 kills (3.90 kills/game), while Ariane Guy leads the team defensively with 44 digs.
