MOBILE, AL --- Freshman Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn carded in a five over par -76 in final the round of the USA Lady Jaguar to earn a third place finish and help lead the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team to a fifth place finish. The art major shot an opening round score of 71, ending day one atop the leader board. Phol-Uayporn has three top-three finishes in just six collegiate tournaments.
June Bolme shaved off one stroke from her opening round mark of 76 to post a 75 in round two. The Norway native tallied 151 strokes to earn her fourth top-20 performance of the year as she ended in 15th place. Kendall Kirby netted her second top-50 performance of her young career with 145 (78-80) total strokes.
Sandi MacDougall reduced her first round score by three strokes to post a 79 in the second round and Kimberly D'Andrea trimmed down her opening day score by eight strokes, carding in a 78.
As team the Owls fired 308 strokes in the second round, one more tally then their opening round mark of 307. FAU fired 615 strokes on the par-71, 5,821 yard course at the Azalea City Golf Club to earn its second top-five finish of the season. Middle Tennessee State University led the event the entire way, recording 592 (297-295) strokes. Michelle Toth of the host school, Southern Alabama University, shot the lowest round of the tournament with a four under par - 68 in route to taking medalist honors.
The Owls will return to the greens on Mar. 20 at the El Diablo Intercollegiate in Citrus Springs, FL.
