BOCA RATON, FL - Amanda Bulin and Missy Glaser combined for 37 points to lead Florida Atlantic University to an 83-62 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday night at FAU Arena. The Owls have won four straight games to improve to 9-2 in the Atlantic Sun.
Bulin scored 16, of her career-high 20 points in the first half to help give FAU a 40-22 lead at the break. She finished a perfect 9-of-9 from floor and added six rebounds in only 19 minutes of work.
The Owls of FAU came out of the locker room scorching hot, connecting on their first eight shots to hold an 18-4 lead at the 14:12 mark.
Kennesaw State cut the lead to nine, 31-22, with 4:03 remaining, but FAU went on a 9-0 run to end the first frame.
The Owls' stiff defense held KSU to just 25% (8-32) from the field and forced Kennesaw to commit 11 turnovers in the first stanza. FAU shot over 40% in the first half for the fourth straight game, making 51.7% (15-29) of its attempts in the first 20 minutes of play.
Susan Beauzil buried a deep triple to extend the Owls lead to 22, 59-37, with 12:50 left in the second half. The Owls converted 42.9% from beyond the arc on the night.
FAU took its largest lead of the game, 70-23, with 6:45 left as Shontavia Williams nailed one of her two threes on the evening. Williams finished with 12 points and six rebounds.
Glaser posted her second best scoring output of the season with 17 points as she was 3-of-5 from three-point land and freshman Breana Cox recorded a career-high 10 rebounds for FAU.
Shavonder Clarke posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards for Kennesaw State.
