Weberg Named National Swimmer of the Week

CollegeSwimming.com named Florida Atlantic University swimmer Ellie Weberg the female National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week this past week after an outstanding meet against the College of Charleston, Denver and Cincinnati on December 16. Weberg was an NCAA Championship participant in 2006.

Weberg won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the FAU Invite as the women's team picked up dual meet wins over the three squads. The Bloomington, MN native won the 100 breaststroke by more than four seconds (1:03.30). She followed that performance up with a win by more than eight seconds in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.09). Both times are NCAA Championship consideration times.

The Owls return to the pool for a meet on January 3 at 8 a.m. before hosting another meet on January 6 at 10 a.m.
