Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic women's basketball team will be heading back on the road this week for three games. On Thursday they'll return to action in South Florida to match-up with local opponent FIU on the road in Miami.
"Its been tough the last few games trying to keep everyone focused," said Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. "By going on the road for three games we hope to get some good wins and get back on track."
This past Thursday FAU (1-9, 0-2) fell to Troy University (7-3, 1-0), 78-63. Trailing by only one with 3:51 to play, the Trojans closed out the contest with a 20-6 run. FAU allowed a season-high 55 free-throw attempts on 32 fouls. The Owls out rebounded their opponent 38-35.

The Hampton Lady Pirates are coming off a 54-45 loss to James Madison on December 9th, while the Alabama State Hornets fell to Kentucky on December 8th, 75-46. Hampton owns a 2-0 series advantage over the Owls. Alabama State has never played FAU.

Iva Ciglar is the team's point-guard and boasts the top assist-per-game ratio (6.43) in the conference. All-Time FIU holds a staggering series advantage of 18-1.
On Monday the Owls game with UAB will tip at 7 p.m. Eastern at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The winners of that game and the 5 p.m. Alabama State-Hampton match-up will meet in the Blazer Invitational championship at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
