Howie-In-The-Hills, FL --The Florida Atlantic University men's golf opened its season with first-round action of the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic on Friday. The three-day tournament is hosted by Winthrop University and takes place in Howie-In-The-Hills, FL.
Adam Koloff leads the Owls shooting 3-over on the par 71 6,814-yard course. Koloff shot 37 strokes on both the front and back nine. He is currently tied for 24th place.
Mark Washburn (38-38, 76) shot 4-over par, finishing the day in 37th place. Billy Bowling (38-42, 80) Derren Garber (42-39, 81) and Michael Berger (38-44, 82) rounded out the Owls first day competitors. FAU (311) finished the opening round tied for 14th place.
Winthrop currently leads the pack with a score of 287. The top individual scorer was Charleston Southern's Kelvin Davis (31-36, 67) who shot 4-under par.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday, with the first tee time set for 7:30 a.m.
