NORTH CHARLESTON, SC(OCT 30, 2006)-- Mark Washburn and Adam Kolloff both finished in the top ten after the first day of action at the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational. The Par 72 6,928 yard course is at the Crowfield Country Club in North Charleston, SC.
Washburn (75, 69 -144) shot an impressive 3-under par in the second round. He finished the day in a tie for ninth place. Koloff (74, 71-145) shot 1-under par in the second round, and ended the day knotted with three other golfers in tenth place. Jacksonville's Duncan Stewart (68, 70- 138) and Western Carolina's Matt Cook (68, 70 - 138) are in a first place tie after the second round.
Michael Berger (76, 70 146) had a six stroke improvement from his first to second round and concluded the day in a tie for 14th place.. Derren Garber (74, 76 -150) shot 6-over par and completed the first two rounds in a tie for 24th. Scott MacDougall (83, 76 - 159) rounds out the FAU golfer's with a tie for 41st place after one day.
FAU (299, 286 - 585) is in fourth place entering the final round. They trail the leader South Carolina (290, 288 - 578) by seven strokes.
The Owls will complete the third and final round of the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational on Tuesday with the first tee time in the morning.
