Fort Myers, FL(Oct 16,2006)-- June Bolme and Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn are tied for third place after the first round of the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational. The par 72, 6081 yard course at the Pelican Preserve club is the second tournament of the season for the Owls.

Bolme (35-37, 72) and Phol-Uayporn (37-35, 72) are in a heated 10-way tie for third place. The pair trail Miami's Jessica Steward (35-34, 69) by three strokes with two rounds still to play.

Sandi MacDougall (38-39, 77) shot 2-over par on the front nine and finished the round tied for 38th place. Kimberly D'Andrea (37-43, 80), and Jennifer Norton (43-41, 84) ended the round tied for 61st and 76th respectively.

FAU (301) finished the first round in eighth place. They trail the current leader Texas Tech (293) by eight strokes.

The Owls are back in action this afternoon to complete the second round of the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational.
