Florida Atlantic University played its first of four matches on the road on Friday evening and dropped a 3-0 (22-30, 18-30, 24-30) contest to Middle Tennessee in Sun Belt Conference volleyball action on Friday night.
The Blue Raiders (15-5, 6-1 SBC) held the Owls (7-12, 4-5 SBC) to a .163 hitting percentage in the match. FAU was led by 14 kills from Janelle Sarauw followed by Kaila Janssen's 13. Casey LaRocca assisted on 23 kills on the night.
Florida Atlantic was unable to stop the Middle Tennessee offense as the team hit .339 in the match. Ashley Asberry and Ashley Adams both finished with 11 kills and hitting percentages over .400. Asberry also contributed five blocks for the Blue Raiders.
Florida Atlantic continues its road trip on Saturday when it travels to Western Kentucky to face the reigning Sun Belt Champion at 3 p.m. et.
