ORLANDO, FL -- Walter Yoder scored in the 23rd minute but it wasn't enough as the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Central Florida Thursday.
The Owls (3-5) peppered UCF goalkeeper Ryan McIntosh with 10 shots on goal, including five in the last 30 minutes, but were unable to score the tying goal.
FAU's senior goalkeeper Anders Granstad made four saves on the night.
Florida Atlantic scored the game's first goal off a corner kick by Diego Monsalve that was converted by Yoder to put FAU ahead 1-0 after the first half.
The Golden Knights scored early in the second-half to tie the score at one when Mike Mattson converted a cross from Billy Judino. Judino would score the go-ahead goal 15 minutes later in the 62nd minute.
The Owls are now off until Sept. 27 when they travel to Wake Forest, the final game of their six-game road-trip. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
