Simpkins Honored by A-Sun

BOCA RATON, FL - Janeke Simpkins was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Atlantic Sun Conference Monday afternoon.

The Florida Atlantic University's women's soccer team went 2-0-0 last week against North Florida and Florida International. FAU did not allow a goal to either team.

The Owls have now racked up three-consecutive shutouts, in part thanks to Simpkins' efforts defensively. She also scored a goal against UNF after she blew past a pair of Osprey defenders. The goal was the first of her FAU career. This is her first Player of the Week honor.
