Cheer Team Advances to National College Championships

MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- Florida Atlantic University's Cheerleaders recently returned from a National Cheerleading Association Collegiate camp. The camp was held in Myrtle Beach, SC and attracted over 500 cheerleaders from the surrounding states.
The National Cheerleaders Association selects award winners at each camp it administers around the world each summer. The Owl cheerleaders received the following awards:
Out of the six Small co-ed teams, FAU received 3rd place in the Spirit Routine competition, earning a bid to the National College Championships in Daytona, FL.
Kathyrn Alleman , Meresa Muttillo, and Stephanie Reed were awarded NCA Collegiate All-American honors.
The FAU Mascot, Owlsley, received NCA Collegiate All-American Mascot, as well as most improved mascot at the camp.
Florida Atlantic's cheerleaders are coached by Heather C. Henderson.
