Florida Atlantic University is set to host the Owls Golf Tournament, June 11, 2005 at the Broken Sound Country Club, with the goal of raising funds to benefit athletic scholarships.
FAU head football coach Howard Schnellenberger and head men's basketball coach Matt Doherty are scheduled to highlight the celebrities in attendance, while UBS Financial Services, Inc., has joined the effort as the tournament's title sponsor.
"We are so thrilled to have UBS as a title sponsor for the first year of this tournament," said Terry Mohajir, the Associate Director of Athletics Development. "UBS is dedicated to forming a long-term partnership with the university, and I believe this is the first step in demonstrating their commitment to higher education and FAU Athletics."
The event begins with an 11 a.m. registration. Lunch will follow prior to a 1:00 p.m. shot-gun start. Also included in the entry fee are hole prizes and games. Cocktails will follow the completion of play.
A limited number of spots remain for team and individual player registration. The entry fee for a team of four is $600 while individuals may play at a cost of $150. Space is limited to 144 golfers.
Bernard Stern Foundation and Applied Card Systems are also partners in the 2005 event.
