Bill Robinson has been named Florida Atlantic University's Director of Ticket Sales, announced FAU's Athletics Director Craig Angelos, Friday afternoon.
"We are very pleased to have Bill join our team," said Angelos. "He brings a wealth of experience at many levels and will greatly help us exhaust every avenue to sell tickets for all of our athletic contests. We think he will be a real difference maker."
Robinson brings 10 years of experience in professional sports. His most recent position was with the New Orleans Hornets where he served as ticket sales manager, a position he left to move to Boca Raton. Prior to the Hornets, he was the Louisiana Superdome Ticket Sales Supervisor for the New Orleans Saints from 2000-2004. Robinson also served in a similar role for the Detroit Tigers.
His move to Michigan saw him develop marketing skills while he worked with The Palace Sports & Entertainment, a position that handled youth hockey games before and during intermissions. He also was an account representative for the NBA's Detroit Pistons and International Hockey League's Detroit Vipers.
While earning his degree from St. Thomas University, Robinson worked for the Miami Heat's Guest Relations Department from 1995-97. He also served as an intern for the Dunedin Blue Jays.
He has volunteered for the Miami Dolphins, John Alden Sports Challenge, served as the committee chairman for the St. Thomas University/Chris Evert Tiebreaker Tournament, and was St. Thomas' representative at the 1996 MLB winter meetings.
