NASHVILLE - Looking for a similar run to the one that the women's tennis team enjoyed over the last few days, the men's golf team is prepared for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, to begin Monday.
Taking a look at the course where the championship will take place, FAU will certainly have confidence going in. The Legends Club in Franklin, TN is the same course that FAU last competed on at the Belmont Invitational, and the team had success there, shooting the second-best final round of all teams. As women's tennis recently displayed, momentum can be a major factor.
But beyond that, the team is composed of several players who are expected to compete at a very high level. Charlotte transfer Kevin Clark has been a major contributor this spring, finishing tops on the team at Belmont, and second at both the Charleston Southern and the USF Invitationals.
Sophomore Tommy Suri has become the most consistent performer on the team, finishing no lower than third among teammates in any event this spring. He also has two top-ten finishes under his belt, finishing ninth at Charleston and sixth at the Geico Direct Championship.
Fellow sophomore Ben Gardner has finished as high as 16th this spring (Geico Direct) and will definitely be a factor as well.
The tournament will run from April 18-20 in the Nashville area.
