Dance Team Finishes 2nd at Nationals

Boca Raton - Florida Atlantic University's dance team traveled to Nationals and returned to Boca Raton with a second place open division finish, the highest finish in the program's history.
The April 7 NCA/NDA event was held in Daytona Beach, FL. The team entered the event as the no. 1 seed based on a tape submitted prior to the event. The squad began the competition 8 a.m., Thursday morning in the preliminary competition.
The Owls advanced through the prelims as one of seven teams to return to the finals and were seeded no. 3.
Fighting it out with seven remaining teams, FAU pulled within points of the eventual winner Western Kentucky, a Sun Belt Conference member.
Other teams competing in the open division were (listed alphabetically): Assumption, Eastern State, Georgia Tech, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Loyola, North Carolina-Asheville, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Tennessee State, and Western Kentucky.
