BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University fell to no. 75 Dartmouth College, 4-3, Monday in non-conference women's tennis action in Boca Raton, FL. FAU (4-8) won the doubles point, but the Big Green (10-1) came back to win four of the six singles matches to claim the one-point victory. FAU's Alena Dvorakova won her ninth-straight match, with a win over nationally-ranked Jayme Ahmed.

In doubles, FAU won all three matches. Katherine Bartnik and Veronika Koksova were the first to finish in an 8-4 victory over Ahmed and Margaret Fitchet at no. 2. The Owls clinched the doubles point when Dvorakova and Elodie Wendling were victorious at no.1 in an 8-5 win over Lindsay Winningham and Megan Zebroski. FAU's Claudia Kecht and Pia Terol also won at no. 3.

In singles, Dvorakova quickly disposed of Ahmed, ranked no. 100 in the nation. The senior claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win to improve to 16-3 overall and 9-1 in dual match play.

Trailing the Owls 2-0 at that point, Dartmouth went on the win the next three matches that finished to take a 3-2 lead.

The Owls' Jessica Williams tied the match at 3-3 when she defeated Ann Scott, 7-6, 6-4, at no. 6. Minutes later, Winningham defeated Koksova, 6-4, 6-4, at no. 2 to clinch the match for the Big Green.

Florida Atlantic is next in action Tuesday when it hosts no. 65 Pacific at 11:00am.
