Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Golf Committee and the FAU men's golf team, under the direction of first-year head coach John Orsino, are proud to announce the inaugural Friends of FAU Golf Classic, to take place Saturday, March 26. Registration for the event begins immediately and runs through March 15.
The event, created for the purpose of raising funds for the men's golf program, will take place at two golf courses in Boynton Beach, FL, the same venues that provide the Owls with practice facilities. The Indian Spring Country Club will play host to the golf tournament itself while the Westchester Country Club will host the award ceremony and reception.
"Indian Spring and Westchester are two of the finest courses in the country," Orsino said. "Both facilities are very supportive of our program, and hopefully down the road, we'll be able to host some of our own tournaments there."
Entry in the classic is $150 per person and includes greens fees, a golf clinic presented by the golf team, and the award ceremony and reception buffet. Participants will also have an opportunity to win a new car from Bill Seidle's Mitsubishi "Hole-in-One Contest" and a Harley Davidson in the Beacon Insurance Agency "Hole-in-One Contest."
Those interested in participating in the Friends of FAU Golf Classic should contact the FAU Golf Committee at (561) 737-5544 (ext. 129) or visit the men's golf homepage at www.fausports.com.
