BOCA RATON, FL -- After having an 11 day break over the holidays, Florida Atlantic University will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Dec. 28 to host the Georgetown Hoyas in its final non-conference tilt of the season.
FAU is coming off of a 76-63 loss to Florida State on Dec. 17, which dropped its record to 3-5 on the year. The Hoyas topped American University 64-60 on Dec. 22, to improve to 5-4.
Florida Atlantic is led by senior guard Shontavia Williams. She is averaging 14.3 points per game to go along with 6.3 rebounds per game. Williams went a perfect six for six at the free-throw line verses FSU, leaving her eight free throw makes shy of becoming the All-Time leader at Florida Atlantic.
Demina Anderson and Sally N'Diaye have provided a nice inside presence for the Owls. Anderson is third on the team in scoring at 7.1 points per game and N'Diaye dropped in a career-high 14 points in the win over Bethune-Cookman, lifting her average to 6.1 points per game.
The Hoyas are just 1-3 on the road this season, but will bring four players that averaging double-figures to FAU Arena on Wednesday night. GU is led by Kieraah Marlow with 14.3 points per game. Kate Carlin and Bethany LeSuer each score over 11 points per game for Georgetown.
