Three Recognized by Soccer Buzz

BOCA RATON, FL -- Three members of the 2005 Atlantic Sun Champion Florida Atlantic women's soccer team were honored by Soccerbuzz.com on Wednesday.

Susanna Lehtinen, Denise Brolly, and Janeke Simpkins were all recognized by the national website, whose opinion is respected by soccer coaches across the country.

Lehtinen, a sophomore who has already been named First-Team A-Sun, A-Sun Player of the Year, and All-Florida by SoccerFLA.com, scored 10 goals and assisted on 10 others, earning her Second-Team honors in the Southeast Region by Soccer Buzz.

Brolly, a senior, earned Third-Team All-Southeast honors to go with her First-Team A-Sun honors. She scored seven goals and added three assists in her final campaign as an Owl.

Simpkins was named to the Southeast Region All-Freshman team for her efforts on the backline. She chipped in a goal, while helping the Owl defense break numerous program records including goals allowed (10), shutouts (16), and consecutive shutouts (9).
