JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Eric Arbuzow scored the lone goal against his former school, helping the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team clip North Florida, 1-0 on Monday.
Arbuzow took a pass on the left side from Samuel-Eli Dzegede and fired a shot past UNF keeper Kyle Callahan for the deciding tally.
The win allowed FAU to keep pace with Campbell who was scheduled to play Mercer Monday evening. It also brought the Owls' record back to .500 at 7-7-2 overall.
Florida Atlantic now stands at 4-1 in the conference. Perhaps the biggest match of the season will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, when the Owls take on Campbell. The winner will likely have an inside track on the regular season crown.
The Nov. 2 game against Belmont has been cancelled, and will not be rescheduled, leaving two regular season contests on the schedule, with a Nov. 6 battle at Gardner-Webb being the season-finale.
