After being named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Year, Iana Andonova earned All-Region honors this week. The middle blocker is the first Florida Atlantic volleyball player to earn the honor.
With one season remaining in her collegiate career, Andonova has already made a mark in the FAU record books. She picked up her 1,000th career kill on October 15 and needs just 54 kills to take over the FAU career record for kills.
In 2004, the Margate, FL resident posted 483 kills to take over the number one spot in FAU's season records, while her .344 hitting percentage led the A-Sun Conference. Andonova's 121 career aces currently ranks her fifth all-time at FAU.
Andonova helped guide the Owls to a conference title in 2004 but saw the Owls fall in the semifinals of the A-Sun Tournament.
