BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will play its first game in 15 days when it hosts Bethune-Cookman College Thursday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm, and tickets are still available. The Lady Owls enter the game 1-7 while the Wildcats are 2-5. The game is the last of FAU's non-conference games. FAU last played December 15 in a 65-40 loss at Florida State. The Lady Owls will be trying to snap a four-game losing streak that started December 2 against Lipscomb in triple overtime. FAU's last win came November 27 against Morehead State. Shontavia Williams leads FAU with 13.8 points per game. Jackie Brown is averaging 11.8. DeKesh Frazier is the team's leading rebounder with 6.0 boards per game.
Bethune-Cookman last played December 18 in a 69-64 home loss to Southern Illinois. Its only wins have come against Alabama A&M and Norfolk State. Jessica Stephens leads the team with 16.0ppg. Katie Clark is averaging 14.6.
FAU leads the all-time series 12-3. The teams have not played since December 13, 1999, when the Wildcats posted a 73-70 win. FAU is 6-1 against BCC at FAU Gymnasium.
Florida Atlantic begins the bulk of Atlantic Sun Conference play January 3 at UCF. The game will be the first of 18 straight against A-Sun teams to close the regular season.
