Iana Andonova became the first volleyball player at Florida Atlantic University to earn Honorable Mention All-America honorees this week when the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Associaton) announced its 2004 All-America Teams.
A junior middle blocker, Andonova was the first FAU player to earn Atlantic Sun Player of the Year and All-Region honors.
The Margate, FL resident helped guide the team to its best record in Division I history with a 21-7 mark. She broke the FAU kills record with 483 and needs just 54 more to take over the career record, while her .344 hitting percentage led the A-Sun Conference
Andonova picked up her 1,000 career kill on October 15 on the way to guiding the team to a conference title.
