Lady Owls Take On Undefeated Seminoles

TALLAHSSEE, FL - Florida Atlantic University takes on undefeated Florida State University Wednesday night in non-conference action in Tallahassee. The game tips at 7:00pm at the Tucker Center and can be heard live on WLVJ 1040-AM and www.fausports.com. FAU enters the game 1-6 while FSU has tied its best start in school history at 6-0.
The Lady Owls will be trying to snap a three-game losing streak. FAU is coming off an 82-55 loss Saturday night at FIU. The Lady Owls never led as the Golden Panthers led by more than 20 most of the second half. Shontavia Williams was the only Lady Owl in double-figures, finishing with 14 points. FIU outhsot FAU 48 percent to 32 percent.
Florida State is off to its best start since starting with the same record in 1981-82. The Seminoles defeated New Orleans, 62-44, on Sunday. FSU has won its games by an average of 16.3 points. Roneeka Hodges leads the team with 15.8 points per game.
FSU leads the series 5-2. The teams last met eight seasons ago when FSU took a 79-63 victory December 18, 1996, in Tallahassee. FAU last beat FSU on January 8, 1994 in a 67-64 victory at FAU Gymnasium. The Lady Owls are 0-4 at FSU and have lost by an average of 23 points in those games.
The game will be the last for FAU until December 30 when it faces Bethune-Cookman at home.
