BOCA RATON, FL - Fresh off of hosting the FAU Thanksgiving Classic, the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will stay home to take on Lipscomb and Belmont this week as Atlantic Sun Conference action begins at FAU Gymnasium. The Lady Owls take on Lipscomb Thursday at 7:00pm before playing Belmont Saturday at noon.
FAU is coming off an 82-70 victory over Morehead State on Saturday. Shontavia Williams, who received All-Tournament honors, led all scorers with 21 points. She scored 15 the day before against Youngstown State and, as a result, was named A-Sun Player-of-the-Week. Jackie Brown leads the Lady Owls with 15.3ppg while Williams averages 13.3. Missy Glaser, who scored 18 points against MSU, is averaging 8.3.
Lipscomb and Belmont were the top two seeds at last year's A-Sun Tournament after finishing in a four-way tie for first place at 14-6. The Lady Bisons are 1-2 on the year and face Kent State Tuesday night prior to their trip to Florida. Belmont is 3-1 and plays at UCF Thursday night.
FAU is 0-2 all-time against Lipscomb. The Lady Owls own a 4-1 record against Belmont with wins in their last three meetings.
The two games at home this week will be FAU's last until December 30.
