BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University is picked fifth in both the preseason coaches and media polls released Tuesday morning by the Atlantic Sun Conference. FAU takes part in an exhibition game November 7 against Florida Gulf Coast at 1:00pm at FAU Gymnasium. Admission is free.
The Lady Owls received 66 points in the coaches poll. Lipscomb is the favorite to win the regular season with a conference-high 112 points. UCF is second with 106 points but is picked to win the A-Sun Tournament. Georgia State is third (102), and Belmont is fourth (88). Troy, Mercer, Stetson, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, and Jacksonville round out the 11-team poll.
In the media poll, FAU also finished fifth with 82 points. Lipscomb and Georgia State tied for first with 127 points. UCF is third (125), and Belmont is fourth (114). Mercer, Stetson, Troy, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, and Jacksonville finished behind FAU in the media poll.
Florida Atlantic begins its regular season November 19 at Middle Tennessee.
