Geni Burts was tabbed the Sun Belt Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week after she won the 500 free and 200 IM against the University of Miami. Burts becomes the first FAU swimmer to earn the honor since the team moved to the SBC this season.
The sophomore from Pembroke Pines, FL swam a season-best time of 4:59.60 in the 500 free. The time is the fastest this season in the conference. In the 200 IM she posted a time of 2:09.01. She posted her fastest time of the season in that event on October 23, which also leads the Sun Belt. Her time of 59.32 in the 100 back led the team and placed her third against the Hurricanes.
Burts will lead the team into this Saturday's meet in Miami where the Owls will face FIU and Florida State at 11 am.
