Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team claimed at least a share of the 2004 Atlantic Sun Conference Title with a 3-1 win over UCF on Friday night. FAU rallied in game one but fell to the Golden Knights 30-28. Trailing 29-21, the Owls used three FAU kills and four UCF errors to bring the score to 29-28 behind the serving of Makra Condill. A kill from Schanell Neiderworder sealed UCF's only win of the night. Neiderworder, a freshman outside hitter led her team with 14 kills and added four blocks.
With game two tied at 25-25, FAU took the lead for good on a Kelly Paiva kill from Courtaney Kiebert and took the game 30-28. Paiva finished the night with her 12th double-double of the season as she tallied 13 kills and 13 digs.
FAU took game three handily 30-21, before holding off UCF 30-27 in the final game. The Golden Knights tied the game at 26-26 but could not hold on as FAU went on a 3-0 run. A Lindsey Bell kill sealed the victory as FAU posted its most wins in Division I history with an 18-4, 8-0 A-Sun record. UCF falls to 8-11, 5-3 A-Sun.

UCF's Katie Kohnen finished with a match-high 33 digs and Tanya Jarvis collected her 1000th career kill in an eight kill evening.
FAU travels to Bethune-Cookman on Saturday for a 1 pm non-conference match. The Owls then return to A-Sun play next weekend against Stetson and Jacksonville.
Notes: The Owls dropped the previous eight meetings to the Golden Knights. This is the first time since 1999 that FAU has defeated UCF. The last win came in the Championship Match of the 1999 A-Sun Tournament.
FAU outmatched the Golden Knights statistically in kills, assists and digs.
With an 18-4 record, the team has posted the most wins in Division I history. The previous record was 17-13 in 1999.
