Cayse Kaveny became the third Owls' volleyball player to earn Atlantic Sun Player-of-the-Week honors on Monday after guiding Florida Atlantic University to two wins last week and to a 7-0 record in the conference as the team holds its best record in school history at 17-4.
On Friday night, Kaveny collected 10 kills and did not commit and error in 23 attempts for a .435 hitting percentage against Mercer University. She added three digs as FAU swept the Bears 3-0.
In a battle for first place in the A-Sun on Saturday, Kaveny came through with 21 kills in 46 attempts for a .413 hitting percentage. The senior from Cupertino, CA also posted seven blocks as FAU defeated Georgia State.
Kaveny leads the team with 78 blocks and is second on the team with a .286 hitting percentage. She has 16 double-digit kill matches on the year and has four matches with five or more blocks.
