Macon, GA. - For the second time in two weeks a member of the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team earned Atlantic Sun honors. Natalia Navarro became the second golfer in program history to earn A-Sun Women's Golfer-of-the-Week honors when the conference office announced it Wednesday afternoon.
Navarro, a junior from Medellin, Columbia, earned her third career tournament victory in the Lady Moc Classic. Navarro shot a 3-over par 219 in the three round tournament and helped lead the Lady Owls to a second place team finish. Over the past three weeks Navarro has greatly improved her overall finish from 34th and eighth to first. In the Lady Moc Classic, Navarro rallied from a stroke deficit to win by a commanding five strokes with the nearest A-Sun participant 23 strokes behind. Navarro currently holds a 77.7 scoring average for the spring and a 78.3 average for the year.
The Lady Owls return to golf action Monday, March 24, at the Hatter Spring Fling hosted by Stetson University in DeLand, FL.
