BOCA RATON, FL - For the third time this year a women's tennis player from Florida Atlantic University has been named the Atlantic Sun Tennis Player-of-the-Week. Karolina Roubickova won the honor as she earned her first victory playing at no. 1 against Miami of Ohio's Megan Zimpfer, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6. Roubickova then proceeded to defeat Boston University's Elena de Mendoza 6-1, 6-2, in her normal no. 2 position. Those two victories, combined with a four match winning streak in doubles, secured the conference award for the junior from Prague, Czech Republic. Roubickova pairs with two-time A-Sun Player-of-the-Week Alena Dvorakova at no. 1 doubles.
Roubickova has now won three matches since the announcement of the award, pushing her win streak to eight consecutive singles matches.
As a team, FAU (13-4) is currently riding a six match win streak. A streak the Lady Owls hopes to continue when they host SMU March 28, at 12:00 noon.
