BOCA RATON, FL -- Florida Atlantic University continues its road trip Tuesday when it faces the University of South Florida in Tampa. The non-conference game begins at 3:00pm at the Sun Dome and can be heard on WLVJ 1040-AM and www.fausports.com.
Florida Atlantic (1-6) is coming off a 93-67 loss at Louisville on Sunday. Trineca McCleod led three Lady Owls in double-figures with 19 points and nine rebounds. Shontavia Williams added 15, and Julie Goad scored 12. McCleod continues to lead the team with 13.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Williams is adding 11.4 points.
South Florida comes in with a 4-5 record. It last played December 22 in a 74-61 loss at UNLV. The Bulls have lost three of their past four games. Jessica Dickson leads USF with 16.2 points per game. Nalini Miller is adding 11.1 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds.
The game is the 15th all-time between FAU and USF. Each team has won seven times with the last meeting coming December 28, 2001, in a 101-87 FAU victory in Boca Raton. FAU is 1-6 at USF with its lone win coming November 30, 1986.
Tuesday's game is the last non-conference game of the year for FAU as it resumes Atlantic Sun Conference play January 3 at Jacksonville. The USF match-up is the third in four games for the Lady Owls against a Conference-USA team.
