Macon, GA - Florida Atlantic University's women's golfer Natalia Navarro was named the Atlantic Sun Women's Golfer-of-the-Month for October by the league office on Monday afternoon. Navarro finished the fall season with two tournament wins and another top-six finish in three tournaments.
Navarro, a senior from Medellin, Columbia, won the Florida International/Pat Bradley Invitational this past weekend for her sixth collegiate tournament win. She shot a season low round of 71 in the second round and defeated Stepanie Hicks in a playoff hole to win the title for the second time in three years. It also marked the fist time that she won two tournaments in a season. Navarro won the Hatter Fall Classic (10/19-10/21) by three strokes, giving her a tournament victory in each of her last four years. She also finished sixth in her first tournament of the month, the JSU Gamecocks Golf Classic. For the month, Navarro finished with a 75.4 scoring average.
Florida Atlantic concluded its fall season and will return to action Monday, February 9, at the UCF Invitational.
