BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will look to even its record Tuesday night when it takes on the University of Georgia. The game will take place at 7:00pm at the Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, GA, and can be heard live on WLVJ 1040-AM and www.fausports.com.
FAU (0-1) is coming off a 79-66 loss to South Florida Friday night in Tampa. Mike Bell led all scorers with 22 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Earnest Crumbley scored 14, and Kahleaf Watson had 10 to go along with a career-high six steals.
Georgia (1-0) won its season opener Friday night in a 78-67 victory over Western Carolina at home. Damien Wilkins led the team with 16 points, including 10-for-10 from the line. Jonas Hayes had 14, and Chris Daniels scored 12.
The game marks the first between the Owls and the Bulldogs. The last time FAU faced a team from the SEC was in the first round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament. That's when the Owls were defeated by Alabama, 86-78.
