Men's Basketball Heads to Mercer

Florida Atlantic University continues its road trip Saturday night with an Atlantic Sun Conference match-up at Mercer University. The game begins at 7:00pm at Porter Gym. FAU enters the game with a 4-10 record and an 0-2 mark in the A-Sun. Mercer is 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the A-Sun.
FAU is coming off a 77-72 loss Thursday night at Troy State. The loss extended its losing streak to seven games, the team's longest since the 1999-00 season. Earnest Crumbley leads the Owls with 17.6 points while Jeff Cowans is averaging 14.5.
Cowans scored 16 points against Troy State and now needs 11 points to reach 1,000 for his career. Crumbley is 40 points away from the 1,000-point plateau.
Mercer last played on January 6 when it defeated Jacksonville 71-68. The Bears are in second-place in the A-Sun South with wins over Stetson and JU. Scott Emerson leads the Bears with 16.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
FAU leads the all-time series 7-5 and is 4-2 at Mercer. The Owls swept the season series last year. The series has been close of late with five of the past eight games being decided by a single point.
The game will not be broadcast on the radio or the internet.
