BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's men's basketball coach, Sidney Green, has announced the addition of two players to the 2002-03 team. Amadou Fall and Drew Skeeter are among the recruits added to the defending Atlantic Sun Conference champions.
Fall (Fr, 6-5, 240, F, Brooklyn, NY) earned Second-Team All-City honors while playing for Boys and Girls High School. As a senior, he averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds per game.
Skeeter (So, 6-4, 175, G, Milwaukee, WI) joins FAU from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. While at Champlain, he averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, and three steals while being named NJCAA All-America Honorable Mention. Skeeter will be joining the team as a sophomore.
In addition to Fall and Skeeter, Jimmy Bishop and Christopher Thomas will also be among newcomers at FAU. Bishop (So, 6-5, 210, G, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) transferred to FAU last season and, due to NCAA transfer rules, will be eligible to begin play following the completion of the fall semester. Bishop last played for East Carolina after a standout career at Westminster Academy in Ft. Lauderdale. Meanwhile, Thomas worked out with the Owls last year and will be among the team's scholarship players in 2002-03.
Florida Atlantic is coming off last year's breakthrough season in which the team captured its first A-Sun title and trip to the NCAA Tournament. Its 19 wins was a team record.
